   General Notes:

>Death note: Road traffic accident nr Cloughmills. Co. Antrim.

Claire was killed whilst driving near Clough, Co. Antrim. On rounding a corner, she was confronted by a combine harvester into which she was unable to avoid crashing. Her death was instantaneous. It is generally agreed that Claire was the most tranquil good natured person you could ever hope to meet, although Andrew recalls that her tranquillity could occasionally slip during the course of marriage! Her background in Lincoln was lower middle-class C of E., she and her parents being pillars of St Giles, Lincoln. She was involved in church affairs throughout her life, achieving great respect and love from all she encountered. A competent sportswoman, she played hockey, tennis, cricket and almost any ball game, but disliked swimming. Her principal hobby was campanology, at which she excelled, and which led to her meeting Andrew. Not ambitious herself, Claire's pleasures were largely in the achievements of others, not least her family. Professionally a teacher, she eventually specialized in junior remedial work. She diagnosed one of the first accepted cases of dyslexia in Essex whilst teaching at Meadgate County Primary School, Great Baddow, the child later becoming a professor. She is dreadfully missed.

Claire married Andrew Seyfang Hudson, son of Dennis Palmer Hudson and Dorothea Ellen Seyfang, on 15 Apr 1966 in St Giles, Lincoln. (Andrew Seyfang Hudson was born on 26 Mar 1943 in Bletchley Bucks.)
